Protest Export of Horses for Meat at US Capitol!

Did you know that the US sends horses to slaughter, just like cows, chickens and pigs?

Since 2007, it has been illegal to sell horse meat in the US commercially and to slaughter horses for human consumption. Although horses are not killed within the United States’ borders, our country sends thousands of them to slaughterhouses in Mexico and Canada. In 2021, nearly 24,000 American horses were sent to Mexico and Canada to be killed and eaten.
