It's hard to believe it's fall and Thanksgiving will be here soon. A time when most families will get together and celebrate with a large meal usually including a turkey and possibly ham or lamb. Turkey's are killed at approximately 4/5 months of age, their natural lifespan is 10 years. Pigs are killed at 6 months of age, their natural lifespan is 15 years. Chickens are killed at 6 weeks of age and their natural lifespan is 8 years. And chickens and turkeys can live up to 15 years! Lambs are killed at 6 months of age and their natural lifespan is 12 years. They are barely getting to live out their lives, they are killed as babies. And most people do not know this because it is hidden from the public. So how is Thanksgiving a time to celebrate "harvest" when that "harvest" also means killing millions of animals and eating their bodies? Animals that value their lives and didn't want to die.
