PEGASUS CUP PROTEST at GULFSTREAM PARK
Join SoFlo Animal Rights in collaboration with Horseracing Wrongs for this demo against the cruel horse racing industry.
When: Saturday January 25th, 12:00 - 2:00 pm. Please be on time! Try to arrive 15 minutes early to account for any unforeseens.
Where: Main entrance of Gulfstream Park (NW corner of US1 and SE 3rd St). For parking instructions see below.
Why: There is no glamour in this antiquated blood sport. A horse can live to be 20, but the average age of death on the racetrack is 4. They are disposable objects- subjected to isolation, extreme pain, and a life cut short due to greed. Those that don't die on the track end up at the slaughterhouse. Only a small fraction that survive their so-called racing careers get adopted out to "thoroughbred aftercare" programs.
Parking: Free at the public library, 300 S Federal Hwy, Hallandale Beach, FL 33009. Do not park at the Brazilian steakhouse. The track is directly across the street from the library.
Demonstration materials provided! Bring water. Obnoxious hats: Encouraged!
