Nup to Perth Cup

Last year’s Perth Cup saw the tragic on-track death of Chili is Hot. She was just one of five horses killed on race day at Ascot in the 2022-2023 racing year. CPR’s Deathwatch Report 2023 indicates Ascot ranks in the top three most deadly tracks in Australia, tied with Aquis Park, QLD. In total 168 horses were killed on Australian tracks in the last year, one death every two days.
