The concept of Ahimsa -- or respect for all living things and avoidance of violence towards others -- is an age-old concept espoused by many religions. But now with our society's full knowledge of animal exploitation and the atrocities happening in, for example, the dairy and leather industries, can we still call India ‘the land of Ahimsa'?
