Melbourne Chicken Save Vigil & Outreach

Join us in this peaceful and respectful event as part of International Respect for Chickens Month to pay tribute to the billions of victims that are killed each year for the food industries.

This action will involve bearing witness to the 6 week old baby chickens who are about to be killed at the La Ionica Slaughterhouse facility where 500,000 are killed each and every week. We will also be outreaching outside the La Ionica Fine Foods shop located at the front of the slaughterhouse, handing out educational leaflets about the true facts of Australian chickens that are bred for consumption and the horrors that go with the industry. We hope to open the eyes of non-vegans to the immense suffering and exploitation of non-human animals, and to inspire vegans to become activists and agents of change.
