Healing Trauma Exposure from Animal Cruelty with Dr. Roshni Ladny

For Activist Appreciation Month, we've invited Dr. Roshni Ladny to share recent research on the negative impact of childhood exposure to animal cruelty to the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Children. This research and advocacy helped elevate animal welfare into the children’s rights domain and resulted in inclusion of language in General Comment 26 (2023) which promotes protection of children from exposure to all forms of violence, including violence against animals. This is the first time animal cruelty and children’s rights have been jointly addressed from a legal perspective in a binding human rights charter.
