Free Billy & Tina Protest

SATURDAY, July 19 is the next protest for Billy and Tina the elephants betrayed by the LA Zoo aka the Los Angeles Animal Holding Facilty and shipped off to more misery at Tulsa Zoo.

Things are not looking good for the LA Zoo: all its fundraising events got canceled by its ex-fundraising partner org, the Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association; zoo director Denise Verret is being accused of self-dealing donation funds; attendance is down, forcing an increase in ticket prices; reviews suck; the city-owned zoo has been slammed by the media and by City Council for secretly trucking Billy and Tina off to another zoo in the middle of the night instead of exploring sanctuary options; patrons are unhappy; and of course the animals are super unhappy as always. And on top of that our team won't stop showing up and yelling at them LA ZOO, SHAME ON YOU! Over and over and over again. The zoo director and staff probably hear us in their nightmares too. But we are not going to stop until Billy and Tina are in sanctuary. The city actually still owns Billy. This horrible wrong can be righted.
