SUNDAY is for Billy and Tina!

As the LA Times editorial on Friday (see our last post) made clear, elephants in zoos are on their way out. Zoos by their very nature are unable to provide the space, the social opportunites, and the mental stimulation elephants must have in order to thrive. Increasingly, zoo are making the decision to close their elephant exhibits and send their ellies to sanctuaries. The Los Angeles Zoo needs to get with the times and do the right thing too: release Billy and Tina to a life where they can not only recover from years of harmful captivity but finally find happiness as well.
