Free Billy Night Protest

We will be back at the second Zoo Friday Night of the summer on Aug 16. This Los Angeles Zoo summer series of nighttime events is billed as "family friendly" and indeed there were hoards of strollers at the first one. We had a great outreach night, talking to lots of zoo goers open to hearing about the stress, trauma and heath degradation that zoo life inexoribly causes elephants, like Billy and Tina. How they were stolen at the ages of the patrons' own kids in tow. And how formerly captive elephants are able to find new life in the large open spaces and more natural environments of sanctuaries.
