A bill (A.B. 700) that has been designed to shut down investigations of cruel and useless animal experiments is moving through the California Assembly right now! This piece of legislation sponsored by Assemblymember Laura Friedman would carve out a broad exemption from the California Public Records Act (CPRA) for "information relating to a researcher or their research at a public post-secondary educational institution."
