Bull Riding Protest followed by Social Event

Bull riding promoters want you to believe that bull riding is a “sport” and that bulls naturally buck. The truth is that bulls buck from intense fear and discomfort. Bucking bulls are bred to be especially sensitive to any negative stimulus, and are obviously distressed as they buck wildly to get riders off their backs. This is thought to be an evolutionary response to a predator jumping on the bulls back. In other words, the bull feels he is under attack and is fighting for his life. Their terror is also made evident by exaggerated and wide eyed facial expressions, drooling, and labored breathing. The wild bucking and use of a “flank strap” can cause serious bruising and catastrophic injury to the bull.
