'A Checkered Past,' starring Joaquin Phoenix, Rooney Mara, and The Chimpanzees in Need

We’re proud to present the Worldwide Premiere of the Shaun Monson short film “A Checkered Past” on July 14 – World Chimpanzee Day! This compelling film is narrated by Joaquin Phoenix and Rooney Mara, who tell the poignant story of the stranded at the closed Wildlife Waystation. Six chimpanzees were rehomed in June, but 26 chimpanzees remain as they await the funds needed to get them to their forever homes.
