DESCRIPTION:Next Los Angeles Zoo Protest: SUNDAY\, Nov 8 from 10 to 12 noon
\nAlmost everyone got taken to the zoo when they were growing up. Zoos ar
e seen an enjoyable\, benign activity\, a way to get out of the house and
go do something. Zoos are on most cities' lists of tourist attractions. Sp
ending a few hours strolling around looking at animals in cages and concre
te lined-enclosures has been normalized as fun. \nWhile some who visit the
zoo have a niggling sense that all is not right with what they see\, they
try to push that thought away\, they bury the feeling that the animals th
ey stare at dont want to be there. But we as activists push those uncomfo
rtable thoughts and feelings right back at them. We state clearly-a place
you hold someone against their will is a prison\, a jail. And ZOOS ARE JA
ILS. \nThe animals in the Los Angeles Zoo never did anything wrong so why
are they in jail? Join us at our next protest as we ask this question.\nSU
	NDAY\, Nov 8 from 10 to 12 noon / Los Angeles Zoo / 5333 Zoo Drive / free
parking \nWhether you want to hold a sign\, chant\, do speakouts\, take ph
otos and videos\, bang a drum\, chalk\, hand out flyers or talk to zoo goe
rs\, we have a place for you with our team! Flyers and posters are provide
d\, but we welcome your own handmade signs as well. YES megaphones\, NO ta
	lking to cops. \n \n \n\n \n
