SUMMARY:Billy & Tina's ZOO PROTEST
DTSTAMP:20261015T221503Z
DTSTART:20261018T170000Z
DTEND:20261018T190000Z
DESCRIPTION:Next Los Angeles Zoo protest is SUNDAY\, Oct 18 from 10 to 12 n
oon.\nCan taking away another's freedom for the use of the taker ever be c
onsidered good? No\, we call that kidnapping. Can locking someone up and d
enying them liberty for the jailers' purposes ever be considered ethical?
When we are talking about humans\, the morally debatable justifications ar
e meting out justice or protecting society. \nAnd what about robbing other
animals of their autonomy? What crime have they committed to deserve havi
ng their autonomy taken away? How does imprisoning them safeguard society?
Institutions like zoos claim conservation or education\, but how do those
human purposes morally justify taking over and imprisoning individual ani
mals their entire lives? They don't. Zoos are prisons where all the prison
ers have done nothing wrong—except not be humans. \nPictured: a recent pho
to of Billy the elephant at the Tulsa Zoo Prison Complex. If you think no
animal deserves having this done to them\, then protest zoos for doing it.
We will be at the Los Angeles Zoo to demand that no elephants ever be imp
risoned in LA and on behalf of Billy's former inmates\, the 17000 still ja
	iled there. \nSUNDAY\, Oct 18 / 10 to 12 / Los Angeles Zoo / 5333 Zoo Driv
	e / Free parking.\nWhether you want to hold a sign\, chant\, do speakouts\
, take photos and videos\, bang a drum\, chalk\, hand out flyers or talk t
o zoo goers\, we have a place for you with our team! Flyers and posters ar
e provided\, but we welcome your own handmade signs as well. YES megaphone
	s\, NO talking to cops. \n \n \n \n \n
