DESCRIPTION:They're back in Boston. This year in the Sea Port District of B
oston\, and for 2 nights! Let's get these events banned in MA and educate
the public about the truth behind cruel rodeos. PETA activists will be the
re each night to protest against these events Let's put rodeos out of busi
ness.\nWHAT: Two nights of protesting against rodeos. \nWHEN: Friday\, Oct
	ober 16th\, 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM and Saturday\, October 17th\, 5:30 PM to 7:
00 PM. This date might change times. Stay tuned.\nWHERE: Boston Seaport Di
strict\, 302 Northern Avenue. \nStandard rodeo events include calf roping
\, steer wrestling\, bareback horse and bull riding\, saddle bronc riding\
, steer roping\, and barrel racing. The animals used in rodeos are captive
performers. Most are relatively tame but understandably distrustful of hu
mans because of the harsh treatment that they have received. Many of these
animals are not aggressive by nature\; they are physically provoked into
displaying “wild” behavior in order to make the cowboys look brave.\nElect
ric prods\, spurs\, and bucking straps are used to irritate and enrage ani
mals in rodeos. The flank\, or “bucking\,” strap or rope is tightly cinche
d around the animals’ abdomens\, which causes them to “buck vigorously to
try to rid themselves of the torment.” “Bucking horses often develop back
problems from the repeated poundings they take from the cowboys.\nRodeos a
re promoted as rough-and-tough exercises of human skill and courage in con
quering the fierce\, untamed beasts of the Wild West. But in reality\, rod
eos are nothing more than manipulative displays of human domination over a
nimals\, thinly disguised as entertainment. \nAll Materials Will Be Provid
	ed
