	imals used in rodeos and bull riding have suffered fatal injuries\, includ
	ing broken backs and necks\, heart attacks\, and aneurysms.\nSpurs\, bucki
	ng straps\, and electric prods are used to irritate and enrage normally do
	cile and gentle animals used in rodeos. Before entering a ring\, cows and 
	horses are often prodded with an electrical "hotshot" so that the pain wil
	l rile them.\nThose who make it through unscathed are given little time to
	 rest or recuperate. They are loaded into trucks\, hauled to the next even
	t\, and forced to participate over and over again. When they become too ol
	d or worn out to continue\, “retirement” is often a one-way trip to the sl
